Davide Muccino Zarlenga

I’ve been fishing since I was eight years old, captivated by the adventures of Sanpei in the famous animated series.
After trying various techniques, in 2009 I discovered that the one used by the young Japanese fisherman actually existed—so I did my research and started practicing it.

The beginnings weren’t easy, given the lack of information available online at the time, but in hindsight, this might have been more of an advantage than a disadvantage.
It led me to experiment and develop movements that, in some cases, have stayed the same and, in others, have evolved as I learned more from sources in Japan.
I go through this process twice over, to always have something new to learn and share—this is my mission for Tenkara.
I now pursue this goal through the Piacere Tenkara YouTube channel, where all my content is published—over one hundred videos to date.

Over the years, I’ve held Tenkara demonstrations at various events and offered free courses to teach the basics of the technique.

Since 2024, I’ve been the head of the Tenkara section at the Italian Fly Fishing School (SIM).
