Caddis Pupa

Special guest of the Fly Tying Experience: Håkan Karsnäser with its Caddis Pupa!

What you need:

  • Wet fly hook size 10-16
  • Partridge hackle
  • Olive Hare’s dubbing
  • Oval silver tinsel
  • Hare’s ear dubbing

STeps:

 

  1. Choose a partridge hackle, fibres same length as hook shank. Tie it in behind the eye, inclina forward and backside up
  1. cut off a piece of silver tinsel and tie in along the shank, down the bend
  1. put some olive dubbing on the thread and make a slendon body. Make it 2/3 of the shank, tapered in both end.
  1. Wind the tinsel as a ribbing 3-4 turns counter wise and tie in.
  1. Take some hare’s ear dubbing and make a thin and slender thorax.
  1. Use a hackle pliers and make 1-2 turns with the hackle, back again the thorax. Tie in with the thread.
  1. Go with the thread through the hackle, the secure
  1. Make a small head and finish with the whip finish.
