Fly Tying video tutorial: Smeraldina Fly
Let's build with Andrea Pegorin the Smeraldina Fly?
Fly name: Smeraldina Fly
Manufacturer: Andrea Pegorin
Required:
short shank hook size 12,
black mounting wire,
some bright green polypropylene fibers for the body,
2 cul de canard feathers (cdc),
1 partridge feather
Steps:
- With the assembly wire, stop some polypropylene fibers, twist them on themselves and wind them on the hook forming the abdomen of the fly.
- Prepare the cdc and with a pin divide the wire, then insert the fibers inside it. Turn the spooler and wind it in coils by combing it back.
- Attach a partridge feather to the tip and wrap it in front of the CDC, then stop it.
- Using the assembly wire, make the closing knot forming the fly head.
- Tear off excess fibers and comb. Secure with a drop of glue on the knot
