Andrea Pegorin

I was born in Prato in 1977. At the age of 15, I started to venture into the small streams of the surrounding hills with the first spinning rod and a handful of rotating spoons.

For a long time, I dedicated myself to bass fishing and to fishing for pike with artificial lures; until in 2014, I was literally fascinated by fly fishing. It happened while I was accompanying a friend of mine to enroll in a fly-fishing course at the Prato Mosca Club. The atmosphere was so great that I decided to throw myself body and soul into this new world.

Construction became a passion in passion, spurred and supported by the club's companions, I started to participate in the first construction contest.

In 2018 I won twice the contest on the bimonthly "Fly Fishing and Spinning" and also in the same year I also won the annual prize for best imitation of 2018. Thanks to this, I was then invited to build on the stand of the magazine at Fish Show.

A few months later, I participated in the 32nd Slovenian Open Fly Tying Championship obtaining 1st place in the Dry Flies category and 2nd place in the Nymphs & Wet Flies category.

In addition, I won the 20th edition of the historic Villa Guidini Building Trophy in the same year.

Now I am a Prato Mosca Club member of the Management Board, with which I usually meet to organize courses and activities aimed at popularizing and enhancing fly fishing.
