Rimini, 15th February 2026 – A pre-announced success, confirmed by the numbers: the second edition of Pescare Show in Rimini was a triumph in the eyes of the Italian and foreign public. The Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) international trade show came to a close today with a 40% increase in visitors compared to last year and a +70% rise in international attendance. Important data which, combined with the strategic partnership with FIPSAS, the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities, and the extended exhibition area, from 3 to 6 halls, crown Rimini and its Riviera as the European capital of sport fishing.

A SHOW TO EXPERIENCE: FROM TECHNICAL SHOWCASES TO TRIALS IN WATER

A sign of vitality for a sector that found its most complete and dynamic representation at the show. Over 160 brands (+60% compared to 2025) exhibited the very best of the market’s offer, from on-board electronics to motorsport engineering, the most specialised equipment for each fishing technique and an unprecedented selection of national and foreign tourist destination proposals. A three-day event that attracted the entire fishing community to an immersive experience that included demonstrations in the Casting Pools for technical casting, meetings with sports champions and influencers, and educational activities.

AN INTERNATIONAL HUB FOR BUSINESS AND SPORT

Pescare Show has never demonstrated such an international scope as it did this year, positioning itself as an essential platform for the European market. Over 100 foreign trade visitors toured the corridors, confirming the event’s appeal for global business. The show’s prestige was confirmed by the attendance of the sector’s most prominent institutions: IGFA (International Game Fish Association), MLF Major League Fishing - the American Bass Fishing league, EFFTA (European Fishing Tackle and Trade Association) and EFFA (European Fly Fishing Association). A cosmopolitan aptitude that also became a sporting show with the Italian leg of the Casting and Fly Casting World Cup. The competition, which saw 100 athletes from 10 countries compete, decreed Rimini Expo Centre’s status as the only facility in Europe equipped with the structural characteristics to host indoor competitions of this level.

INSTITUTIONS AND TERRITORY: A WINNING SYNERGY

The success of this edition is also the result of close collaboration with strategic partners. FIPSAS, which animated the demo areas and competitive moments, played a fundamental role, as did the Emilia-Romagna Region, which chose the show to stage its presentation of the new Fishing Charter and wildlife protection projects.  A synergy that has transformed Pescare Show into a widespread event able to involve the city and the Riviera with initiatives that combined sport and tourism, from sea trials at the Rimini Boating Club to the finals of the Lake Trophy at Pascoli Lake. A climate of enormous enthusiasm, shared by companies and the public alike, confirming that all the conditions are there for further growth at the next edition.

The next appointment for the entire PESCARE SHOW community will be in February 2027, again at Rimini Expo Centre.

IEG, PESCARE SHOW OPENED TODAY: IN RIMINI, THE ENTIRE SPORT FISHING UNIVERSE TO SEE, EXPERIENCE AND PURCHASE

  • At the Italian Exhibition Group show, ongoing at the Expo until Sunday, the latest in the experiential activity market in an engaging experience for the entire sport fishing world
  • Spotlight on sustainability and territory in the Emilia-Romagna Region and FIPSAS conferences with focuses on biodiversity and the new Fishing Charter

Rimini, 13th February 2026 – AI-assisted onboard instrumentation, articulated lures that faithfully reproduce underwater movement, latest generation divisible kayaks, and guides for the world’s most fascinating fishing destinations. These are just some of the new features at Pescare Show 2026, the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) exhibition inaugurated today at Rimini Expo Centre and ongoing until Sunday 15th February, where experts and enthusiasts of all ages will be meeting for three days of innovation, technique and sport fishing and recreational boating culture.

ALL THE SECTOR’S INNOVATIONS IN RIMINI

Rimini Expo Centre’s halls once again provide the ideal stage where passion for fishing meets the new frontiers of aquatic exploration: from top fishing and recreational boating brand previews to spinning rod design workshops and projects with eco-sustainable philosophies that bring the circular economy to the show. An all-round experience that offers experts and enthusiasts of all ages a complete and dynamic cross-section of everything that revolves around the sport fishing world. The over 160 brands and exhibitors at the show include the debut of Patagonia, which offers free tailoring repairs to extend the life of technical clothing, challenging the “buy and throw” logic. Pescare Show is also hi-tech: while navigation embraces AI to plot routes and analyse sea beds, outboard engines (like those by Suzuki) become allies of the environment through innovative systems that filter microplastics during navigation. Global giants, such as Shimano and Honda Marine, are also in attendance together with the genius of Made in Italy: in the artisan area, the tradition of building bait by hand now merges with 3D printing, creating unique pieces that combine design and engineering.

INSTITUTIONS AND RESEARCH: BIODIVERSITY AND TERRITORIAL HISTORY

New products provide the backdrop to a full programme of institutional and technical meetings. The first day of the event will see the Emilia-Romagna Region involved in a double appointment. In the morning, focus on regional activities in the field of maritime state property with Emilia-Romagna’s regional councillor for tourism, trade and sport, Roberta Frisoni, and the manager of the wildlife-hunting, fishing and aquaculture activities sector, Vittorio Elio Manduca, in attendance. The afternoon will focus on science and the protection of biodiversity with a presentation of the first results of the new Regional Fishing Charter, the result of 108 monitoring sessions in collaboration with the universities of Ferrara, Bologna, Modena-Reggio Emilia and Parma. Attention will then move to inland waters tomorrow, Saturday 14th February (10.30 am) with the conference “Fish-eating birds and fish resources: ecological balance, impacts and management prospects”. The debate will centre on the impact of species such as the cormorant on ecosystems and fishing activity. An event that will see the participation, among others, of MEPs Stefano Bonaccini and Pietro Fiocchi, and Environment Ministry representative Marco Visconti. FIPSAS President Ugo Claudio Matteoli will sum up the conclusions.

WORKSHOPS, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND BIG SPORTS CHALLENGES

Pescare Show offers an all-round immersive experience where learning comes through practice and discovery. The Content Hub will be the beating heart for talks and technical advice with experts and brand ambassadors, but this year it is “know-how” that has carved out a leading role. In the new Italian Lure Builders area, artisan lure builders from all over Italy will be explaining and demonstrating their skills with creations in which tradition encounters modern 3D printing. Manual skills will also be central in the Fly Tying Experience area specifically for fly producers, while the future of fishing develops in the FIPSAS Village with workshops and educational activities for youngsters. Last but not least, the big competitions: the opening day will see a press conference for the Suzuki Fishing Cup, the single-brand trophy for deep-sea sport fishing. A prestigious competition that is included within the FIPSAS absolute Italian Championships in the Drifting and Offshore Trolling disciplines (for crews and clubs), raising the level of the sporting challenge even further.

pescareshow.it/it/rimini

Rimini, 12th February 2026 – The curtain will be raised tomorrow on Pescare Show 2026, the international sports fishing and recreatioal boating exhibition, organised by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG). Until Sunday 15th February, Rimini Expo Centre and the Riviera will be the beating heart of a hobby that unites sport, nature and lifestyle, welcoming professionals, companies and enthusiasts from all over Italy and abroad. Pescare Show will be double the size of the 2025 edition: six halls and over 160 brands and exhibitors to offer the visitor a complete showcase on the world of sport fishing (from spinning to big game, from fly to carp fishing) alongside the latest innovations in recreational boating, electronics and motor sport engineering. Ample space will be given to outdoor proposals and a tourism area that has never been so packed. Tourism will, in fact, be one of the hot topics of this edition: in Italy, where sports tourism is worth 12 billion euros (+8% in 2024, source Banca Ifis), Pescare Show will act as a hub to discover new tourist destinations for anglers, from lodges in Denmark and Greenland to luxury charters in the Mediterranean, and meet professional guides from Trentino, Friuli and Italy’s inland waters.

SPORT, TRAINING AND PROTECTION: NOT-TO-BE-MISSED EVENTS

The sporting heart of the event will be hall C3 where the Italian leg of the Casting and Fly Casting World Cup, the first European indoor competition of this discipline, will take place. Organized by FIPSAS and ICFS, more than 100 athletes from 10 countries will be competing. But Pescare Show is also an occasion for institutional and scientific debate. A leading role will be played by the Emilia-Romagna Region which, together with FIPSAS and the university world, will stage a busy schedule of conferences in the Fishing Arena. Several meetings are planned for Friday 13th February, from "fishing huts" to fishing tourism as an economic resource, European projects for the protection of eels, and the presentation of the new Regional Fishing Charter. On Saturday 14th, wildlife management will be the topic of the conference on fish-eating birds and, in the afternoon, the focus will be on young people with the F.A.A.R. project. (Fishing and Environmental Education for Teens), the course that introduces under 18s to conscious fishing. Sunday 15th will see a conference on the future of competitive fishing between regulations and sustainability

PESCARE SHOW: AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

Pescare Show 2026 will provide a firsthand experienced that goes from the Casting Pools, where visitors will be able to learn from world masters such as Tellis Katsogiannos and Christopher Rownes, to the Fly Tying Experience area, specifically for the world of fly fishing. An absolute new entry will be the Italian Lure Builders area (manufacturers of artificial bait) and the Social Media Village, where fans will be able to meet the most well-known influencers. The show will also feature projects for well-being and health with Casting for Recovery, the association that uses the benefits of fly fishing movement to promote the physical rehabilitation and emotional well-being of women who have undergone breast cancer surgery.

FROM THE EXPO HALLS TO THE RIVIERA: A WIDESPREAD CELEBRATION

The spirit of this edition will extend beyond the boundaries of the Expo to embrace the territory. Thanks to the centrality of Rimini, Pescare Show will become a widespread event: from sea trials at the Rimini Boating Club to the finals of the Lake Trophy at Pascoli Lake. A synergy between IEG and the Romagna Riviera that confirms the area’s ability to systemize, offering an experience that unites business, sport and hospitality.

TRAVELLING WITH A FISHING ROD: “FISHING TOURISM” IS THE NEW FRONTIER OF EXPERIENTIAL TOURISM

  • In Europe, fishing generates an economic income of more than 10 billion euros
  • In Italy, where sport tourism is worth 12 billion, the demand for tourist port services is growing
  • New trends, from luxury charters in the Gulf of Naples to lodges in Denmark, will be featured from today until Sunday 15th February at Rimini Expo Centre with Italian Exhibition Group’s Pescare Show

www.pescareshow.it

Rimini, 13-15 February 2026 – No longer a solitary pastime, but a powerful motivation for travel able to move international flows and enhance locations all year round. Tourism linked to sport fishing is one of the most dynamic niches on the travel scene, intercepting the demand for nature, sustainability and authentic experiences. A phenomenon that will find a privileged observatory at Pescare Show 2026, Italian Exhibition Group’s (IEG) international sports fishing and recreational boating exhibition, scheduled to take place from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th February at Rimini Expo Centre.

THE NUMBERS: A FLYWHEEL FOR THE TOURISM ECONOMY

The figures show an extremely healthy sector. According to EFTTA (European Fishing Tackle Trade Association) estimates, the passion for fishing at a European level generates an annual expenditure of around 10.5 billion euros (between travel, equipment and experiences). Italy plays a leading role: with 2.5 million anglers and a domestic market that generates around 300 million euros in consumption (FIPO data), Italy is an increasingly coveted destination. The sector is part of the broader Italian sports tourism scene, which in 2024 reached a value of 12 billion euros, an increase of 8% on the previous year according to the Banca Ifis sports system observatory, driven by over 550,000 international travellers (+4.7% based on ENIT/Banca d’Italia findings).

TOURIST PORT EVOLUTION: FROM MOORINGS TO "EXPERIENTIAL HUBS"

The world of ports also confirms the change of pace. According to Assonat (National Association of Tourist Docks and Ports), demand for Italian marinas is evolving: no longer just the “do-it-yourself” boat owner, but an international clientele - with a considerable increase from the USA - who are looking for professional charter services, technical assistance and high comfort. As Assonat underlines, sport fishing is a concrete lever for extending the offer and intercepting new segments. Ports are becoming authentic tourist hubs able to collaborate with chefs, museums and hospitality facilities to enhance the identity of the location. A strategic asset also for deseasonalisation: flows linked to fishing are, in fact, distributed throughout the year, bringing life to tourist ports even away from the summer season.

SUSTAINABILITY AND "CATCH & RELEASE"

The new tourist-angler is attentive to the environment. The most common practice is Catch & Release, supported by “green” innovations such as electric motors for silent sailing. A sensitivity also recognized by tourist ports which, as Assonat highlights, are investing increasingly in waste management, photovoltaics and marine ecosystem protection.

DESTINATIONS FEATURED AT RIMINI: FROM THE ALPS TO THE FAR NORTH

At Pescare Show 2026, travel will cross Europe starting from the “cold paradises”. Denmark will stand out with the island of Fyn and the archipelago (Langeland and Ærø), renamed the capital of sea trout thanks to the thirty-year Havørred Fyn environmental restoration project. Here, excellent facilities such as the Denmark Fishing Outdoor Lodge offer high-level services and exclusive access to private waters for pike fishing. For those seeking extreme adventure, Go to Fish offers tailor-made itineraries to Norway for halibut and cod fishing, and even to Greenland waters for Arctic char.

In Italy, the offer combines biodiversity and professional services. Trentino offers 300 alpine lakes and 2000 km of waterways thanks to online Trentino Fishing Guides, local experts who can also be booked via smartphone. In Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Carnia Fishing Guide association proposes a slow and “no-kill” tourism model, where fishing becomes a cultural means to discover local history, food and wine. The South responds with the luxury of the Mediterranean: in the Gulf of Naples, Virada Fishing Experience raises the concept of charter by offering exclusive outings on board the Pursuit 3100 Offshore, combining the adrenaline of professional sport fishing with the iconic beauty of the Neapolitan landscape.
