Discover the fly tiers of the upcoming edition
Fly fishing is an angling method whose name derives from specific artificial baits built in a way that resembles every life stage of both water insects (the ones originating, growing up, reproducing and terminating their existence in water) and so-called terrestrial insects such as ants, grasshoppers, wasps, etc. In any case, the lure is called “fly” even though it imitates other creatures constituting part of a fish diet, such as other fish species, shrimps, etc.
Antonio Sabetta
My name is Antonio Sabetta and I was born in 1961 in Salerno.
I have been fly-fishing since the second half of the 1980s and in 1987 I began my involvement in 'aulic' and 'environmental' associations as a founding member and vice-president of the Mosca Club Salerno and later of the Mosca Club Campania.
Boštjan Jakopič
Boštjan Jakopič was born in 1976 and has been fishing since the age of 11. A professional fishing guide and expert on Slovenian waters, he is also a passionate fly tier.
Ezio Celeschi
“A fly doesn’t have to be beautiful to catch fish, but when it is, the catch feels even more rewarding.”
Fabrizio Gajardoni
Passionate about fly fishing and fly tying since 1982.
Franco Vaccarino
I hope for a fly tying school that provides standardized fundamentals, offering a clear direction that focuses above all on the practical effectiveness of flies in fishing.
Jackie Mahon
I am a fly fishing guide and fly tyer based on the west coast of Ireland, where I work full-time guiding on Lough Arrow, Lough Erne, Glencar Lake, and Lough Melvin.
Luigi Mautino
His passion for fishing began at an early age, but after exploring various techniques, he fully committed to fly fishing and, ten years ago, decided to found Spacefishing Adventures.
Marco Feliciani
Marco Feliciani exclusively fishes with flies and has been a fly tyer since 1977. He began writing for specialized magazines in the early ’90s, co-founded the magazine FLY FISHING Pesca a Mosca, and later the online magazine CONFLUENZE.
Micheal Nicoletti
He started fishing at a very young age, and at 14 he made his first fly using chicken feathers and red wool. He began wetting his flies in the river and nearby natural ponds, and his passion for this technique kept growing more and more.
Mirco Bandi
A fly fisherman for many years, he boasts international experience both in casting (he is an EFFA instructor) and in the creation of artificial lures.
Nicola Forlenza
Nicola Forlenza, born in 1994. I am from Contursi Terme (SA), a town in the Sele Valley. I have been fly-fishing exclusively (dry) for about 10 years although I have approached other techniques since I was a child.
Nino Casino
River ecologist, entomologist, writer, and columnist. Fly fishing is a way of life.
Nunzio Troisi
A reference point for fly fishing in southern Italy, a great builder and above all a great popularizer!
Paolo Penna
My passion for fishing started from a very young age, I essentially started walking and fishing at the same time. After experimenting with numerous fishing techniques, about 12 years ago I came to artificial fly fishing, also thanks to the members of ARS Fiumi Sele e Tanagro, and it was love at first sight.
Pasquale Monda
I was born in 1968 and I live in the province of Naples. My passion for fishing was born when, as a child, I used to go hunting with my father; at first light I would sit by the river and for hours I would stare at the flowing water, listen to its 'sound' and be enchanted and intrigued by the life it concealed in its deep currents.
Samuele Sicchiero
I have been passionate about fly fishing for predators like pike and catfish for about six years, without overlooking the big carp in the canals. What fascinates me most about this discipline is tying streamers.
Sandro Ulisse
He approached fly fishing relatively late, sparked by a family vacation in Val di Sole (Trentino), where he was fascinated watching an “old fisherman” performing a tailing shot with a mouse pattern.
Stefano Carmagnani
I have been exclusively practicing fly fishing since 2016, but my introduction to the world of fishing began at a very young age.
Steve Silverio
Lately, his tying bench has become increasingly populated with Harwig salmon flies and bombers, although streamers—especially saltwater and predator flies—have long been his primary focus.
Tom Doc Sullivan
Tom Doc loves trout and will go anywhere to catch them. Lucky for him that he hails from Galway and lives on the shores of the mighty Lough Corrib in the West of Ireland, so he doesn’t have to travel far.
