Rimini, the heart of the Nautica Valley

Rimini is one of the key hubs of the Nautica Valley, together with Ravenna and Forlì‑Cesena.

The establishment of this district was officially marked by the launch of the Regional Nautica Roundtable, which brings together companies, institutions, universities, and research centers with the aim of strengthening coordination and fostering the development of the entire supply chain.

Romagna is the beating heart of the boating industry in Emilia‑Romagna: approximately 90% of the region’s total turnover in this sector is concentrated here. Overall, the industry is worth €1.6 billion and comprises 287 manufacturing companies employing more than 3,600 people. The sector has experienced steady growth: over the past ten years, turnover has tripled. Exports have played a decisive role, generating around €800 million, half of total revenues, confirming the strong international outlook of the supply chain.

Alongside production, there is also a growing commitment to education and training. Romagna is home to the Master’s Degree in Nautical Studies based in Forlì, which focuses on developing specialized skills for the sector. The presence of dedicated university programs represents a strategic asset in meeting the demand for highly qualified expertise and in attracting young talent, helping to make the district increasingly competitive at both national and international levels.
