Biography

Senior researcher at the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnologies of the National Research Council, Ancona branch. Expert in Marine Acoustics. Electronic engineer. She deals with hydroacoustic investigations applying multifrequency split beam technology and evaluation of biological resources through direct acoustic survey methodologies. She conducts studies on the pelagic ecosystem for monitoring small pelagics in the Adriatic Sea and krill in the Ross Sea Marine Protected Area, Antarctica, and their variations in relation to climate change. She also conducts passive acoustic research for underwater noise estimation and acoustic and visual monitoring of marine mammals. She has worked on bioacoustics applied to the study of cetacean biological sonar systems, fishing technology, and fishing gear selectivity. Scientific Manager for CNR IRBIM of several research projects including MEDIAS - Mediterranean International Acoustics Surveys, in GSA 17 and GSA 18, within the framework of the EU Data Collection Framework for Italian Fishery and the Interreg Italy Croatia projects SOUNDSCAPE - Soundscapes in the North Adriatic Sea and their impact on marine biological resource and UNDERSEA - UNDerwatER Soundscape bEyond Ais. She is the author of numerous scientific publications. She has participated in several scientific campaigns in the Adriatic Sea aboard Research Vessels.
