Massimo Magliocco

Massimo Magliocco is a prominent figure in the world of fly fishing, known not only in Italy but also in Europe and the United States, especially for the Italian Style of casting. He actively collaborates with numerous Italian and international magazines, including American Angler, Fly Fishing & Fly Tying, and Trout Fisherman. He is the author of several books that have marked the sector, including Torrenti & Dry Fly, Lungo le rive del fiume, La mosca oltre la corrente, Tra la coda e la mosca – il finale and La Pesca a mosca secca. Some books have also been translated into English, such as Dry Fly Fishing in Fast Water and The Italian Style of Casting. His production also includes eight DVDs dedicated to casting techniques and fishing strategies, some of which are also available in English. An expert casting instructor, Massimo was part of the Italian School of Fly Fishing (SIM) for fifteen years as a member of the technical commission. Furthermore, he founded and directs two fly fishing schools, FFM Italia and FFM UK (Fly Fishing Method), of which he is the Technical Director. His expertise extends to equipment design: he has collaborated for years with prestigious brands, both Italian and Anglo-Saxon, for which he has designed lines of rods and fly lines. He currently collaborates with Loomis & Franklin, for which he designed the MAC2 Series, which includes a complete line of rods and lines.
