René Gerken

René Gerken is one of only three Danes to hold the prestigious Fly Fishers International (FFI) certifications as both a Master Casting Instructor in single-hand (MCI) and two-hand (THMCI) fly casting. Over the years, he has taught and coached hundreds of fly fishers, sharing his extensive expertise and deep understanding of the art and technique of fly casting.

René’s practical knowledge of fly fishing is equally remarkable. A qualified fishing guide in Sweden, he has also worked as a camp manager in Norway and guided anglers in several countries, including Argentina, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

Passionate about the sport, René enjoys salmon fishing in the rivers of Jutland and has spent years exploring the flat, windswept coasts of Funen in search of the perfect sea trout.
