Andrea Gasparini

I was born in Udine in 1971, I started fishing with the artificial fly technique, when I was about 14 years old. My father Valter had been fishing for many years already and he used to go with me along the wonderful Friulian resurgences, which were still intact environments, rich in fishes and microfauna, in the eighties.

I learned the tying technique initially self-taught, collecting articles on tying in the few magazines of the time and only later I met other good builders who taught me a lot. Among these, the most important figure was Francesco Palù.

In 2002, I was one of the founders of the "El cogol" club in Pozzuolo del Friuli. I participated in several construction trophies, also obtaining good results, among which the victories at the Bisenzio Trophy, the Lombardy Grand Prix and Villa Tinin.

I know all the waters of my region, of Slovenia and several Austrian rivers and I am particularly fascinated by the Friulian resurgences, the Varmo and the Stella.
