I was born in 1968 and I live in the province of Naples. My passion for fishing was born when, as a child, I used to go hunting with my father; at first light I would sit by the river and for hours I would stare at the flowing water, listen to its 'sound' and be enchanted and intrigued by the life it concealed in its deep currents.
In the 1980s I used to read a well-known fishing magazine, in particular Piero Lumini's articles, and tried to reproduce, with poor results, his flies, given also the difficulty in finding the construction material.
It was then that I met Antonio Pacilio, an angler from the town where I live, and thanks to him I began to fish my first chub on the Volturno river with self-built flies, in particular with the famous bivisible. In 2006 I met the De Blasio twins and from then on my passion for building artificial flies burst out. Thanks to Antonio de Blasio, I joined the S.I.M. and this wonderful experience gave me the opportunity to learn not only the basics of fast casting with light tails, but above all, by observing the many talented builders, I became definitively passionate about the world of artificial flies.
One of those who had the greatest influence on my knowledge of construction techniques was certainly my dear friend Nunzio Troisi, without forgetting how fascinated I was by the stories and passion conveyed by Alfeo Busilacchio, my first instructor at the S.I.M. The rivers I frequent are the Volturno, Sele, and Tanagro, on the latter two there are two reserves dedicated exclusively to No Kill fly fishing, and I am a member of the board of directors of the A.R.S. Sele/Tanagro. I have had several fishing experiences abroad, in Slovenia, Austria and Bosnia, shared with my friends and fishing companions Antonio and Michele De Blasio.
