Umberto Simonelli is the Editorial Director of Global Fishing, the web magazine that has been a presence in the online publishing landscape for over 15 years.
He is passionate about sea fishing in all its forms, from spearfishing, which he has practiced since childhood, to boat fishing, which is now his main passion.

A fisherman and hunter, he is attentive to environmental issues and fishing sustainability, topics that often lend themselves to many of his articles.
Among the sea fishing techniques in which he can be considered an expert are live bait trolling, deep-sea trolling, deep-sea bottom fishing, and cephalopod fishing, with a particular passion for cuttlefish.

Both by passion and by profession, he is also an expert in nautical matters, particularly engines and systems.
His career as a journalist in the sector began with the monthly magazine Pesca in Mare, with which he collaborated for five years, and then continued for another 15 as the founder and editor of Global Fishing magazine.
