Loris Zecchinello

My name is Loris Zecchinello and I was born in 1974 in the province of Treviso.
I love fishing in all its forms since I was a child. I began to attend the first courses of water in adolescence with traditional techniques. When I was 18 I dedicated myself for a few years to competition in trout fishing in stream and lake.I quickly reached the maximum levels in team championships and a few times in the finals of Italian Championship of trout torrent.

At the end of the nineties, tired of competitions, I discovered fly fishing thanks to a friend with whom I tried to deceive the Brenta's Temoli.
From that moment I started my adventure dedicated exclusively to the latter discipline. I immediately attended the Opitergium fly Club where I learned the basics and started building my first flies. In 2004 I approached the construction meetings to improve my technique and acquire knowledge on fly tying.

Feeling the need to improve in the launch, in 2010 I attended a specialization course which was followed by many others that led me to be part of the SLM instructor team (Moscow Launch School).In 2012, on the occasion of the 1st Bogianen Trophy (TO) I participated with three Imitations in the filming for the sky program "Pescavventura" by Alberto Salvini and Marica Cicoria.

In 2013 the magazine "Fly Fishing and Spinning" published my first article entitled "scotch sedge", along with several imitations awarded by the same. Initially my attention was turned to classic dressing, but now I love to build mainly with natural materials following the famous Italian style as taught by one of the greatest Italian pioneers in the history of Fly Tying, the great Francesco Palù.

My imitations range from fresh water to salt water without neglecting the predators of fresh water such as pike and bass. Today I am ProTeam Ahrex, Proteam Swisscdc and I am part of the Instructors body of the SLM (Moscow Launch School) where I regularly organize launch courses in my territory. I am often invited to the Italian Fly Clubs to build my flies and I occasionally write articles related to fly Tying in the magazine "La Pesca a Mosca & Spinning".

2008 1st place at the Villa Tinin Trophy (UD)  - 1st place spec. best classic fly

2009 3rd place at the Villa Guidini Trophy (TV)

2010 1st place at the Il Cadore Trophy, the dolomites and the P.A.M.

2011 6th place in the Bisenzio Trophy  - Special construction prize for the Il Cadore Trophy, the Dolomites and the P.A.M.

2012 3rd place at the 1st Bogianen Trophy (TO)

2014 1st place in the 1st Sarca River Trophy Tione di Trento (TN) - 2nd place at the X Alto Brenta Trophy

2015 1st place at the TMC Riva del Garda Trophy (TN)

2016 1st place at the 11th Alto Brenta Trophy - Best Pupa at 3rd west walley fly fishing in Chialamberto (TO)

2019 7th place at the 16th Bisenzio Trophy

28th Slovenian Open Fly Tying Championship - 5th place in the Nymphs category5th place in the Dry Fly category - 6th place in the Streamers category

29th Slovenian Open Fly Tying Championship - 1st place in the Streamers category

30th Slovenian Open Fly Tying Championship - 2nd place in the Nymphs category - 2nd place in the Dry Fly category

31th Slovenian Open Fly Tying Championship - 1st place in the Nymphs category - 3rd place in the Realistic category - 3rd place in the Streamers category

At the 2015 international EWF meeting (Germany) with 65 participants from four countries I placed 14th in the Dry fly category and 8th place in the Streamer category.
