Born in Milan in 1988, fly fishing has been part of me from an early age, when my dad put my first fly rod in my hand at the age of 3. Since that moment I have not abandoned it since refining all the techniques, in fact I consider myself a fly fisherman at 360 degrees, there is no fish or technique that you do not love, including fishing with two-handed rods in search of both the big ones marmorate here in Italy and in particular of Atlantic salmon in northern Europe. I approached the construction at the age of 7 because tired of building flies my dad gave me my first clamp. In the following years, starting from the construction of dry flies, I first approached the submerged, then the nymphs and finally the streamers. In recent years, however, I have fallen in love with the construction of tube flies and flies for drift fishing, a construction technique that requires a lot of patience and meticulousness due to the various construction steps required and the particular materials necessary for the construction of these flies.
Whether they are classic tube fly or the more modern no body or free swing there is no tube fly that does not test you in its construction, whether you are building at home or in front of an audience during an evening in a club of fly fishing. But one thing must be said, the adrenaline that catches a fish with a self-made fly gives you is unparalleled!
