Founded in 1987, the Italian School of Fly Fishing (SIM) was born from the desire to share an authentic passion: fly fishing understood not only as a technique, but as a philosophy of life, a balance with nature, and a deep respect for the environment. For nearly forty years, SIM has been a point of reference for those who wish to approach this extraordinary discipline or refine their technical skills, within a framework of professionalism, tradition, and continuous evolution.

Our school is much more than a place of learning: it is a community of enthusiasts, instructors, and students united by a shared language built on patience, attention to detail, and respect for the waterways that host us. We believe that fly fishing is an art capable of teaching harmony and awareness, a bridge between human beings and nature
SIM offers casting courses for all skill levels—from beginners taking their first steps to experienced anglers seeking to refine technique and style—always supported by top instructors, recognized for their expertise and passion. Alongside casting instruction, we offer entomology courses to understand and identify the aquatic insects that inspire our imitations, as well as fly-tying courses, where creativity and craftsmanship come together to give life to small works of art.

SIM’s presence extends throughout the entire national territory, with qualified instructors enabling anyone, from north to south, to access high-level training.
Every SIM activity is guided by a fundamental principle: environmental protection. We teach fishing with respect, observing the life of rivers and lakes with curiosity and gratitude, and giving back to nature more than we take.

Today, as in 1987, the Italian School of Fly Fishing continues to spread a culture rooted in technique, passion, and respect. Because fly fishing does not simply mean catching a fish—it means learning to listen to the breath of the water and recognizing oneself as part of a greater balance.
