From May 1st to 3rd, Orbetello hosts the ninth edition of an event that blends competition, networking, and innovation. Kayak sea bass fishing becomes an international spectacle open to the public.

Everything is ready for the official debut of the ninth edition of Branzino the Challenge, one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to sea bass fishing with artificial lures from kayaks.

The atmosphere is charged with excitement as determined and passionate anglers arrive from Italy, France, the United States, and the Canary Islands, all ready to compete for an exclusive, handcrafted trophy created specifically to celebrate the unique spirit of the competition.

Organized by Insidefishing and supported by the Municipality of Orbetello, the event’s hub will be the Circolo Canottieri di Orbetello, where the Branzino Center will welcome both the public and participants, serving as the focal point for all event-related activities. Branzino the Challenge is not just a competition, but also a space for storytelling and sharing: key moments will be covered and shared through official social media channels with live broadcasts, updates, and video content. Alongside the sporting action, a rich program of talks, interviews, and in-depth sessions will explore the latest industry innovations, featuring contributions from participating companies and well-known experts in sport fishing. Workshops will provide valuable opportunities to dive deeper into techniques, equipment, and emerging trends, fostering dialogue between professionals and enthusiasts.

The official opening is scheduled for Friday, May 1st at 4:00 PM, marking the symbolic start of the event and kicking off a weekend dedicated to sport and passion.

Access to the Branzino Center and participation in all side activities will be free and open to everyone, reflecting the event’s inclusive spirit. The support of key partners is fundamental, including the historic Cooperativa dei Pescatori di Orbetello, the Società Canottieri di Orbetello, The Caesar Park Hotel Orbetello, Camping Village Marina Chiara, and leading industry brands such as Seika, Galaxy, Garmin, Bolsena Yachting, Fishing with Vito, SWR Fishing, Favorite, Pescare Show, Hart, Jack Fin, Salmotrutta, and Mallolures, all contributing to making Branzino the Challenge an event of international prominence.

The most anticipated moment comes on Saturday morning, when at first light the colorful kayaks will spread across the Orbetello Lagoon. From the launching area near the Circolo Canottieri, athletes will enter the water ready to give their best on the first day of competition. At exactly 8:00 AM, the official start from the center of the lagoon will launch the challenge, where strategy, skill, and passion come together in a discipline that continues to attract an ever-growing global audience.
