Assassine

Assassine

Pasquale Monda shows us how to tie an Assassine (Author J.P. Pequegnot – France, 1964). Here’s the Fly Tying tutorial straight from Pescare Show.

Materials:

  • Hook: size 12

  • Thread: yellow

  • One partridge feather

  • One medium gray cock hackle

Steps:

  1. After securing the hook in the vise, wrap the tying thread near the hook eye to form a small head with 2–3 turns.

  2. Tie in the partridge feather close to the head just formed with the thread. Wrap it for 2 turns, making sure the concave side of the feather faces the hook eye. Secure and trim the excess.

  3. Next, tie in the medium gray cock feather. Make 3–4 tight turns behind the partridge feather, then continue with wider turns toward the hook bend.

  4. Secure and trim the feather, then finish with a whip finish knot near the hook bend.
