Burkinshaw Bumble

Materials:

• Hook: Fulling Mill 5025 Grab Gape Black Nickel #12
• Thread: Uni Thread Red 8/0
• Tail: Golden Pheasant Crest
• Rib: Lagarutan Oval Gold Tinsel Small
• Body: Fulling Mill Seal X Dubbing, sooty olive & Fulling Mill Ultraflash Dubbing, olive
• Body Hackle: Cock Saddle, grizzle dyed olive
• Head Hackle: Hen Hackle, dark red game/chocolate

Steps

1. Tie in the Thread and attach Rib and then tie in Tail. Tail should be the length of the hook shank.
2. Dub the Body, mix of Seal X and Ultraflash  ( Mista 80/20) onto the thread. Start winding on at the Tail and bring to the eye of the Hook
3. Attach Body Hackle at the shoulder of the Hook, leaving enough room to attach the Head Hackle afterwards.
4. Wind the Body Hackle on with two turns at the shoulder and then go towards the Tail in about four turns.
5. Wind the Rib in the same direction as the Body Hackle towards the eye through the hackle. Do this in 4/5 turns.
6. Attach the Head Hackle in, tip first, at at the base of the shoulder body hackle. Wind in touching turns towards the eye of the hook, 2/3 turns, stroking the fibres back after each turn.
7. After Head Hackle excess is removed, build up a head with the thread, whip finish.
