When traveling a long distance, sometimes it’s nice to make more than one stop to truly maximize the time “on the ground” in a new place. When lodges are owned by the same parent company, such as Estancia Laguna Verde and the Golden Dorado River Cruiser, it’s all that much easier to make a multi-stop trip to experience a country, and to craft memorable fishing experiences.

Estancia Laguna Verde
Argentina’s Estancia Laguna Verde is one of my favorite lodges for a reason: the sheer remoteness, coupled with a best-in-class team of guides and staff, a homey feel, and the chance to catch pristine 20+ lb. rainbow trout, makes for a compelling combination.

The famed Lago Strobel doesn’t disappoint. It gives anglers a taste of all kinds of weather, including Lago Strobel’s traditional high winds, but effort is rewarded with trophy trout and memories to last a lifetime.

The guide and lodge teams always take stellar care of fishermen, making the little outpost feel like home. This is a fishery for any trout angler looking to set personal records and fish for the fish of a lifetime.

Further north in Argentina near Buenos Aires, the Paraná Gipsy is a comfortable mothership which serves as hotel, restaurant, and fishing home base for the week for golden dorado anglers looking to experience a new kind of fishing.

Fishermen enjoy the open terrain of the Paraná River while fishing each day for golden dorado, then return to the mothership each evening for fine meals crafted by chef Alan, and a good night of rest aboard the comfortable mothership. This is an easy trip to add on during any other Argentina trip, and a wonderful golden dorado experience for those either new to the species, or those looking to experience a different part of Argentina.
